Today it represents one of the most renowned seaside resorts in Sicily and one of the most beautiful seaside villages in Italy. Agrigento
The Valley of the Temples is an immense archaeological site located a short distance from the center of Agrigento. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. The Doric temples, the Agora, the underground aqueducts and the necropolises of the Valley of the Temples occupy an area of 1300 hectares of land and are the greatest testimony of the Hellenic world and of Magna Graecia in Italy. Among other things, it consists of 12 temples, pagan and Christian necropolises and the remains of the actual town.
